The “Excellence in Construction” Awards are presented by each chapter of ABC and are known throughout the industry. They recognize the “best of the best” of construction projects completed within the previous year. The standards for winning are rigorous as they are judged by an impartial jury of academics and professionals. To win an award is to be recognized for superior craftsmanship, design, planning and execution that set a new standard in building for this industry.

KMC Corporation as General Contractor, KMC Shell Division, KMC Earthworks Division and KMC Cabinetry and Millwork Divisions, Acorn Asset Management (Owner) all received Awards for their involvement in the renovation and additions to The Ritz-Carlton – Palm Beach Project.

Since the reopening of their $100-million expansion, The Ritz-Carlton, Palm Beach has won the following awards:

KMC Corporation completed phase one of the $65 million dollar renovation and remodeling of the Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach. The project served as a showcase of KMC Corporation’s expertise within the disciplines of staging, fast track construction and working in an exceedingly “tight site.” KMC President Ron Finger, states “The Ritz-Carlton organization accepts nothing but the very best. It has been our team’s pleasure to work with such an amazing group of professionals.” He continued, “We are proud of this project. Our goal is to exceed our clients’ highest expectations and I believe we’ve done that.”
The project’s scope included construction of a new terrace, remodeling and building an addition to the existing main pool area, including a new ocean bar and cabanas. KMC completely remodeled the existing hotel entrance, lobby and restaurants, constructed a new swimming pool, new landscaping and rework entire underground drainage system. In preparation for Phase-two of the total project, KMC demolished the hotel’s central tower, tennis courts, and parking garages. Phase-two will encompass construction of a new guest tower and spa.

The Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach presented KMC Corporation a welcome opportunity to utilize four of its six in-house divisions. Under the umbrella of KMC General Contractors, the Earthworks & Site Development, Custom Cabinetry & Millwork and Shell and Concrete divisions all played a crucial role in the projects on time and within budget completion.
